Ca' Cavalli

Ca' Cavalli is an elegant building from 1400 reconstructed with all the respect to its style and tradition: Palazzo Cavalli is part of cultural heritage of Venice. The apartment is in the mezzanine with a separate entrance.

The entrance hall is wide and elegant in venetian style and leads to all other rooms. Through an arc the visitor enters in the spacious and elegant parlour where original stone columns from the 14thcentury and an antic fireplace can be seen. It is furnished with two comfortable sofas, TV and HiFi set. There is the double bed room furnished in venetian style with safe and internet connection (on request) which leads to the bathroom in marble equipped with bath with hydro massage and shower. The other double bed room is also furnished in venetian style and has safe and internet connection (on request). From here the guest can reach the second bathroom with shower and a wide closet. The is also a storage closet available for our guests. From the entrance hall the guest can reach the kitchen where there is comfortable space for eight persons. The apartment can house 4+2 persons.

Location

The apartment is situated in Campo S. Polo in the Cavalli lane in the historic center of Venice.

Il Sestiere di San Polo is located in the center of Venice just few meters away from Rialto Bridge. The vivacious and luxury district is surrounded by the beautiful facades of the palaces which are defining it. The area is cheerful and full of life just like the famous market of Rialto. In the neighbourhood of the apartment there are the magnificent Basilica dei Frari with the masterpieces of Titian, the Tiepolo palace, Soranzo, Dono', the Corner Mancenigo palace, the San Rocco school, the house of Goldoni etc.

In San Polo is situated the famous university of Venice ? Ca' Foscari.

The neighbourhood of the Ca' Cavalli apartment is one of the most beautiful areas in Venice, famous for the plenty of shops and typical restaurants: here you can find all you need: supermarket, chemist's and medical services, fish and fruit market, osterie, restaurants and pizzerie. Campo S. Polo is the host of numerous cultural activities such as music concerts, outdoor theater spectacles and outdoor cinema.

For the golf fans Lido di Venezia offers one of the most renowned golf clubs in Italy, just few minutes away with the motorboat from the apartment.

 

 

THE HISTORY: like in a fairytale

The antic palace is situated in Campo San Polo which the district is named after. Campo S. Polo is one of the biggest open spaces in Venice where the famous Basilica dei Frari is located. The square has its present measures since 1750 when the canal of S. Antonio was filled in. During the years the square has been used for many different activities, among those: market, farming place for fruits and vegetables, meeting point of paramours, place for the races and the hunt of bulls, feast place during the carnival. The historic palace Cavalli is situated in a lane, which is named after the famous venetian family. It is a significant venetian building in the Gothic style of the 15thcentury. The palace has three floors and the main facade faces Canale della Madonnetta. The Cavalli family possessed also another palace which is situated on Canale Grande.
